Bank of Canton Donates $1,000 to South Shore Day Care Service

May 17, 2009 – Stephen P. Costello, President and CEO of Bank of Canton, is pleased to announce the Bank’s recent donation of $1,000 to the South Shore Day Care Service. This donation will help sponsor the STARS Program (Student Training for Achievement, Responsibility and Success), run in partnership with Randolph Public Schools. The goal of the Program is to improve students’ school achievement by helping middle school students become excited about math and science through a creative hands-on curriculum.

“Our community partners are a large part of our success here in Randolph,” said Sheri Adlin, Executive Director of SSDCS. “Community-oriented companies like Bank of Canton understand that promoting quality out-of-school-time programming for student achievement is a good investment that builds on existing resources and produces measurable results.”

“We are pleased to support the STARS Program which provides a tremendous benefit to the children of Randolph,” said Mr. Costello. “Organizations like South Shore Day Care Service make the future brighter for the entire community by positively impacting the lives of children.”

South Shore Day Care Services is one of the state's most respected early education and youth program providers caring for over 1,000 children ages two months to fifteen years in a family day care system. Each year about 60 seventh and eighth grade students benefit from the STARS Program.
