Bank of Canton Congratulates Rachel Voke on Successful Completion of Her Internship

May 22, 2009 – Juan Barrera, Assistant Vice President/Branch Manager for Bank of Canton’s Route 138 branch, is pleased to announce that Rachel Voke has successfully completed Canton High School’s Externship Program. Ms. Voke is one of 30 Canton High seniors taking part in the first year of the program designed to prepare local students for the workforce by partnering them with working professionals in the industry of their choice.

Over the past six weeks, Rachel shadowed employees at the Bank’s customer service, human resources, online banking, check processing and marketing departments and learned all about the banking industry. Rachel also attended several local Rotary meetings with Mr. Barrera and spent time observing tellers at the Bank’s branch in Canton.

“Interning at the Bank of Canton has been an educational, interesting and fun experience for me,” said Ms. Voke. “I want to thank Mr. Barrera for giving me this tremendous opportunity. It not only showed me what the banking world is like, but also reinforced my thoughts of studying accounting and finance in college.”

“Rachel Voke is a very bright young lady who showed a tremendous passion for learning,” said Mr. Barrera. “At Bank of Canton, we’re excited to lend our support to a program that‘s helping our local students. We hope this experience was a rewarding one for Rachel, and we wish her the best of luck in her future endeavors.”

Ms. Voke will be recognized at a ceremony highlighting the program on May 27 at Canton High School. Rachel will graduate in June and plans to attend Bryant University in Smithfield, RI this fall.
