Bank of Canton Promotes Michelle Higgins to Senior Vice President

June 22, 2009 – Stephen P. Costello, President and CEO of Bank of Canton, is pleased to announce that Michelle Higgins has been promoted to Senior Vice President of Human Resources. With over 27 years experience in the banking industry, Ms. Higgins has been an integral part of the Bank’s success since joining in 1997 to help open the Quincy branch.

“Michelle has worked in a variety of roles in the banking industry and her knowledge, experience and work ethic has been a valuable asset to Bank of Canton,” said Mr. Costello. “Her performance in her various roles within the Bank has been exemplary. We’re very happy to promote Michelle to Senior Vice President and wish her continued success.”

In 1998, Michelle was promoted to Assistant Vice President/Branch Manager and over the years, under Michelle’s direction, the Bank’s Quincy branch grew consistently and profitably. In 2005, Michelle accepted a new position as Assistant Vice President of Human Resources, and in 2006, Michelle was promoted to Vice President where she implemented many new worthwhile benefit programs for Bank employees.

Throughout her time with the Bank, Ms. Higgins has been an active participant in many Quincy community groups and events, having served on the Board of Quincy Kiwanis, Quincy Business Association, and American Red Cross. Michelle also coordinated and worked events such as the Quincy Annual Sidewalk Festival, Annual YMCA Phone-a-Thon, and the Quincy School Business Partnership.

Ms. Higgins attended Stonehill College in Easton where she earned her Bachelors’ Degree with a dual major concentration in Business and Psychology.
