Bank of Canton Donates $2,500 to Town of Weymouth YouthWorks Program

July 15, 2009 – Stephen P. Costello, President and CEO of Bank of Canton, is pleased to announce the Bank’s recent donation of $2,500 to the Town of Weymouth for the 2009 YouthWorks Summer Job Program. This contribution helps the organization’s statewide effort to help at-risk youths remain engaged in work-based activities during the summer months.

“The Town of Weymouth is grateful to the Bank of Canton for once again participating and supporting local programs that benefit our residents,” said Mayor Sue Kay. “Targeting at-risk kids and setting them in a positive direction through this YouthWorks Summer Jobs Program is a great step toward lowering substance abuse and gang crime.”

The YouthWorks program subsidizes private, public, and nonprofit jobs for at-risks youths who are between 14 and 21 years-old. One of the goals of the program is to lower juvenile detention rates by giving jobs to youth who have been involved in the courts or are otherwise at risk.
