Bank of Canton Hosts Norfolk Advocates for Children Conference

October 6, 2009 – Stephen P. Costello, President and CEO of Bank of Canton, is pleased to announce the Bank hosted the Norfolk Advocates for Children (NAC) Conference at their corporate headquarters on September 30, 2009. The training program entitled “Keeping Kids Safe in the Age of Technology,” was designed to help educators, counselors, police officers and other community professionals help kids to safely and responsibly navigate the challenges of today’s society as it pertains to technology. The conference included a three part presentation on identifying behavioral trends and potentially dangerous and illegal activities among today’s youth.

“At Bank of Canton, we value opportunities to support organizations that share our commitment to community betterment through involvement,” said Mr. Costello. “Norfolk Advocates for Children plays a vital role in our community addressing the needs of child abuse victims and their families. We are extremely honored to have hosted such an important conference and look forward to working with the NAC in the future.”

The conference provided proactive and preventive educational tools and resources to professionals that interact with children on a regular basis. Norfolk Advocates for Children is a collaboration of public and private agencies that provide services to children and families who have experienced physical, sexual, and domestic abuse.
