John Sharry Receives Paul Harris Fellow Award

March 21, 2010 – Stephen P. Costello, President and CEO of Bank of Canton, is pleased to announce that John Sharry, Senior Vice President of Commercial Lending, has been honored by Quincy Rotary Club with the Paul Harris Fellow Award.

A Treasurer of the Quincy Rotary Club, Mr. Sharry received the award in recognition of his dedication to helping the local community. In honor of this recognition, the Quincy Rotary Club donated $1,000 on Mr. Sharry’s behalf to Rotary International.

“I am extremely honored to receive this prestigious award,” said Mr. Sharry. “Our goal as Rotarians is to help those people who need it most, whether it’s volunteering for events, raising funds, or making donations to worthy causes. It’s a tremendous feeling to know we have the loyal support of Bank of Canton in our efforts to improve the quality of life for so many in our community.”

This marks the second time a Bank of Canton employee has received the Paul Harris Fellow Award. In 2008, Juan Barrera, Assistant Vice President and Branch Manager of the Bank’s Route 138 branch, was honored for his dedication to the humanitarian and educational objectives of the Rotary Foundation.

The Paul Harris Fellow Award was established in 1957 and its recipients are Rotarians or Non-Rotarians who have made outstanding contributions to the community and exemplify the highest ideals of the Rotary in placing “service above self.”
