Bank of Canton Donates $1,000 to Neponset Valley Leadership Institution

May 26, 2010 - Stephen P. Costello, President and CEO of Bank of Canton, is pleased to announce the Bank’s recent donation of $1,000 to the Neponset Valley Leadership Institution (NVLI). This contribution helps sponsor NVLI – Summer 2010, a five-day intensive program where local students learn about leadership in many different settings. Students will focus on team building, giving back to the community, making on-site visits to businesses in the private and public sector, and presenting what they have gained from their experiences to parents, business leaders and legislators on the final day of the program.

“At Bank of Canton, we value the opportunity to support the development of the community leaders of tomorrow,” said Mr. Costello. “The Neponset Valley Leadership Institute is a tremendous program that helps students to enhance their leadership abilities and prepares them to assume important roles in the public and private sector in the future. We’re excited to lend our support to the NVLI and we look forward to working with NVLI graduates to build the stronger communities of tomorrow.”

“Every student at NVLI – Summer 2010 attends on a full scholarship and is selected based on leadership potential, so this is a chance for them to develop beyond the boundaries of school,” said Katherine Touafek, The School to Careers Partnership Director. “But this program wouldn’t be possible without the generosity of sponsors like Bank of Canton. NVLI – Summer 2010 runs from June 27–July 2, 2010 and is a special project of The School to Careers Partnership funded by generous business partners and local organizations. Only 24 students are selected regionally from Avon, Blue Hills Technical, Canton, Dedham, Milton, Norwood, Randolph, and Stoughton schools.
