Bank of Canton's Anthony Caruso Honored with Paul Harris Fellow Award

Rotary International Honors Bank’s Senior Vice President for Lifelong Work Helping Community

June 28, 2011 –Stephen P. Costello, President and CEO of Bank of Canton, is pleased to announce that Anthony (Tony) Caruso, Senior Vice President/Branch Administration, has been honored by Rotary International with the prestigious Paul Harris Fellow Award. The award is the highest honor a Rotarian can receive. Several Bank of Canton representatives were on hand to support Tony at the award ceremony held June 22 at Nocera’s Restaurant in Stoughton.

Mr. Caruso, an “Honorary Member” of the Randolph Rotary Club and former Club President, received the award in recognition of his lifelong work helping the community. The Paul Harris Fellow Award was established in 1957 and its recipients are Rotarians or Non-Rotarians who have made outstanding contributions to the community and exemplify the highest ideals of the Rotary in placing service above self.

“All of us here at Bank of Canton are extremely proud of Tony for receiving this prestigious award,” said Mr. Costello, President and CEO of Bank of Canton. “The goal of Rotarians is to help those people who need it most, and it’s wonderful to see Tony recognized for the tremendous effort he puts in to help improve the quality of life for so many individuals and families throughout our community.”

This marks the third time a Bank of Canton employee has received the Paul Harris Fellow Award. In 2010, John Sharry, Senior Vice President of Commercial Lending, received the award in recognition of his dedication to helping the local community. Juan Barrera, Assistant Vice President and Branch Manager of the Bank’s Route 138 branch, was honored in 2008 for his dedication to the humanitarian and educational objectives of the Rotary Foundation.
