The Brookline Arts Center's Palette Project

The Brookline Arts Center launched a fundraiser in April calling on local contributors to decorate artist palettes and auction them off from display locations across town.  Bank of Canton's Brookline branch is more than happy to serve as a display location and feature the artwork of our own "artist in residence,"  teller, Elizabeth Hewitt (pictured below).

Most of the palettes will be included in a silent auction where bidders can offer a price for a palette that catches their eye.  A select few palettes will be included in a live auction at Wheelock College on May 8th.  For more information and a list of display locations, visit the Brookline Arts Center Palette Project fundraiser site.

Valentines for Veterans and Their Families

The Brookline branch, in conjunction with Brookline Keeps Smiling, helped collect Valentines to benefit the Veterans' Services for the Town of Brookline.   Valentines for Veterans and Their Families was overwhelmingly successful and couldn’t have been without the help of the community.

Toy Drive & Mitten Tree

Brookline's Mitten Tree had another successful year collecting dozen of mittens and hats for those in need.  The Brookline branch also partnered with Brookline Keeps Smiling, a non-profit organization focused on helping less fortunate residents of The City of Brookline, to collect toys to benefit the Brookline Community Mental Health Center.  The amount of items collected moved the Health Center to tears!

Christmas in the City

The Brookline staff helped spread some holiday joy by wrapping gifts and painting large sheets displayed on the walls for decorations in preparation for the big Christmas in the City event. The charitable program handed out gifts to nearly 2,800 homeless children throughout the Boston metropolitan area at their 21^st annual holiday party on December 20, 2009 at the Bayside Exposition Center.

Halloween with Sunshine Academy

One hundred children from Sunshine Academy paraded through the Brookline lobby in their Halloween costumes. Branch employees dressed the part as well and handed out pumpkin bags with stickers to the kids.
